Job Description

Newly created autonomous mobile unit to add Mechanical Engineer - can be flexible in seniority and experience from a level II to IV (senior). Working on autonomous vehicles would require candidates to have experience with electrical components/systems including areas of software controls and industrial communication protocols. Interesting challenges and new technology. Part of R & D Group.

Requirements & Responsibilities:

  • Ability to conceptualize designs in developing features and components utilizing Creo, Creo Simulate and/or drafting equipment and software.
  • Knowledge of technical fundamentals of mechanical engineering and some systems engineering with some software, controls and electrical or electronic engineering background/experience.
  • Experience or background in an MRP or continuous manufacturing environment and working with BOM
  • Experienced with Pro-E CAD a must but prefer Creo.
  • Ability to respond to inquiries or complaints from customers, regulatory agencies, or members of the business community.
  • Knowledge of controls engineering processes & techniques
  • Ability to collaborate with other sister companies as it relates to innovation
  • Ability to manage projects using industry standard tools (ex. Microsoft Project)
  • Ability to prioritize and initiate innovation projects
  • Ability to effectively communicate with all levels of management
  • Ability to work with mathematical concepts such as algebra, probability and statistical inference, and fundamentals of plane and solid geometry and trigonometry
  • Ability to use analytical skills to solve complex engineering problems
  • Strong Computer skills and the ability to use standard tools (e.g. Microsoft Office)
  • Excellent problem solving skills
  • Must be willing and able to travel to customer or supplier sites nationally and internationally up to 20% of the time
  • Ability to adapt to diverse situations and challenges
  • Must be Upbeat, with positive energy and a positive attitude
  • Must be a strong team player
  • Must have excellent communication skills

For Senior Level Candidates, would like to see

  • Knowledge of analysis techniques required for tests such as, noise, vibration, metal fatigue
  • Test planning and Project management
  • Knowledge of basic mobile equipment hydraulics

Education and Experience:

Bachelors degree (BSME) with minimum 3 years Pro-E/Creo experience minimum for level 2. Level III and IV candidates will require corresponding more years. Would prefer candidates from automotive, industrial or heavy mobile equipment background. If you are a Mechanical and have worked in a Systems Engineering environment, would be much preferred.
