Job Description


Our client, a highly respected, privately held, growth oriented company has been in business for over a century providing sanitary process components, controls and instrumentation, and integrated process systems to food, dairy, citrus, beverage, pharmaceutical and personal care industries. Client company seeks a professional sales representative, with a strong background in Industrial Sales, for the Nortwest Ohio and Southeast Michigan area. Mechanical Engineers with direct technical sales experience are encouraged to apply. The successful candidate will work with engineers, purchasing agents, production managers, and contractors to sell equipment and to promote the total sanitary process systems capability of the company. Responsibilities may also include assisting with start-ups, installations, and training on assigned projects and equipment.

The Position:

  • Reports to the General Manager of the client company's Louisville Division
  • Establishes office remotely in the Nortwest Ohio area, ie Toledo, Lima, Findley etc.
  • Is the client company's "tip of the spear" conducting technical outside sales, new business development, and marketing within the territory
  • Is supported by corporate and division engineering and project management assets
  • Earns excellent compensation including uncapped commission and an initial guaranteed commission program
  • Includes a rich benefits program, expense reimbursement, and car allowance program, and a lucrative relocation package

Skills and Qualifications:

  • Two to six years of demonstrated success in outside industrial technical sales
  • Experience in the area of sanitary processes is a plus
  • Mechanical Engineering degree and associated technical sales experience preferred
  • Must have a high level perspective yet be able to contribute at all levels of customer organizations - CEO, engineering, procurement, operations, maintenance to name a few
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills a must
  • Must be detail-oriented, mechanically inclined and possess the ability to develop creative solutions for customer requirements
  • Willingness and ability to travel 25-35% of the time in territory
  • Possess the maturity, work ethic and desire to work independently and autonomously without direct supervision
  • Reside within the territory, preferably in the greater Indianapolis area
