Job Responsibilities:

MAINTENANCE SUPERINTENDENT sought by a major building materials company for its manufacturing plant located in Maryland. Reporting to the Plant Manager, the MAINTENANCE SUPERINTENDENT is responsible for managing all Plant Maintenance and Reliability aspects ensuring maximum safety of employees and product quality and quantity. Position will have 4 direct reports from hourly mechanics and 1 controls technician. Excellent career growth opportunity in a very stable and growing business. Other functions and key responsibilities include:

· Provide highly developed leadership, change management, interpersonal communication and people skills to help drive plant performance.

· Manage maintenance and electrical employees.

· Formulate and develop goals and objectives; direct day-to-day activities.

· Determine equipment and manpower requirements for daily operational needs.

· Analyze and trouble-shoot major downtime events using problem solving tools.

· Review and update written maintenance instructions and schedules.

· Maintain a Computerized Maintenance Management System (CMMS) tracking work orders, spare parts, and history of equipment maintenance.

· Plan, coordinate, and prioritize maintenance requirements in conjunction with Operations Group.

· Analyze data and make recommendations on improving Plant Operations and solving Maintenance related problems

· Accurately control Maintenance Budget.

· Hire and develop maintenance team members.

· Address all safety concerns raised by employees or safety audits. Advise workers and management of any potential or actual hazards.

· Complete incident investigations and ensure corrective measures are taken when necessary.

· Manage multiple projects at the same time and ensure quality work is completed in timely and safe manner.


· BS Degree in Mechanical or Industrial Engineering or equivalent experience (PE designation desirable).

· Minimum 5+ years Maintenance Management experience in a Continuous Manufacturing environment.

· Proven track record in Continuous Improvement initiatives including Lean Manufacturing.

· Experience in Preventive & Predictive Maintenance techniques a plus.

· Experience with Process Equipment Repair & Maintenance.

· Excellent customer service focus and results oriented.

· Excellent leadership, interpersonal and communications skills, both oral and written.

· Must be able to understand, read, write, and speak using the English language.

· Must be U.S. Citizen or Green Card holder.

· Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel, PowerPoint,
